     Director, Students' Welfare is responsible for making arrangements for housing, boarding and welfare of the students and coordinates various co-curricular activities such as arrangement of Inter Collegiate, Inter University and National level Sports tournaments, literary and cultural competitions, and also implements various activities of National Service Scheme as Programme Coordinator (NSS) other than the academic work. The Directorate facilitates the students of outgoing batches in finding the suitable placement based on their calibre. Students of JAU get placed in National and Multinational agro-based companies, Universities, banks, agricultural engineering firms, NGO’s are a few among them. Directorate of Students Welfare serves as a hub of students’ guidance, counselling and placement, scholarship, conducting activities for students' discipline of all its constituent colleges and Polytechnics.
     In order to provide better health related services, a Health centre is functioning for the students and staff, for diagnosis of health related problems including clinical investigations under the control of Director, Students' Welfare. Various health camps are being organized time to time by DSW office.
     In order to provide qualitative food refreshments and snacks to the students and staff, University Canteen is functioning in the campus under the supervision of Director, Students' Welfare.
     The ultimate objective of the directorate is to groom the students to become good citizens of country, by developing personality and skill for better living. The DSW office also comprises different cadre official’s assigned additional duties from other departments for welfare activities. The Directorate organizes frequent motivational talks by eminent personalities as well as by alumni of Junagadh Agricultural University who have proved their names in various fields of agriculture. It also helps the students in facing the challenges of life by conducting mock group discussions and interviews under Campus to Corporate seminars. The Directorate conducts various training programmes on Leadership & Personality Development to provide life skills for the holistic development of the students. In addition to the above various special programme assigned by State Government like Voter awareness Programme, Swachch Bharat Mission, Woman Empowerment Programmes are being carried out.
Objectives :
  1. To make arrangements for the housing and messing of students.
  2. To arrange programme of students counseling.
  3. To make arrangements for the employment of students and correspond between the unit placement in-charges and the number of related companies, in accordance with plans approved by the Vice-Chancellor.
  4. To contact the various public and private sectors/organizations for effective and appropriate job placements and to conduct campus interview for the student for early placements.
  5. To supervise the extra-co-curricular activities viz. sports, NSS, Adventure, cultural activities and look after the general needs of the students.
  6. To impart various trainings to the students to improve their overall personality and communication skills for various competitive examinations.
  7. To provide relevant information on various courses, admission procedures and fellowships of financial assistance available for higher studies in India and abroad.
  8. To initiate a special drive for the students to have direct access to internet and e- mail facilities.
  9. To organize and maintain contact with the alumni association of the University.
  10. To establish liaison between students and teachers.
  11. To select the eligible students for Gold Medals to be awarded in Annual Convocation and to prepare the Gold Medals every year.
  12. To provide financial assistance to students through awarding scholarship.
  13. To supervise the disciplines of students in coordination of the Principals of the respective colleges.
  14. To create facilities for the welfare of the students in coordination with the Principals of the colleges.
  15. To appoint competent and efficient Rectors/ Assistant Rectors for the Hostels in coordination with the Principals of the colleges.
  16. To monitor University Health Centre and Canteen
  17. To perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Vice-Chancellor
