Junagadh Agricultural University celebrated 72nd Independence day . Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. A.R. Pathak unfurled the National flag at 8.30 AM followed by National anthem. During this National festival University Officers Dr. V.P. Chovatiya, Director of Research, Dr. A.M. Parakhia, Director, Extension Education, Dr. P.V. Patel, Director, Students’ Welfare Principals and Deans of various Colleges, Head of the Departments, employees, students and invitees remained present in large numbers. Before the flag hoisting Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Pathak Sir gave the floral tribute to Father of the Nation on his Statue.

     At this occasion 145 farm labors were felicitated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. A.R. Pathak Sir, Smt. Kailashben Pathak, President, Krushi parivar Mahila Mandal, Dr. P.V. Patel, Director, Students’ Welfare and Principal and Deans of different Colleges for their dedicated services in the agricultural research stations. Shri P.D. Patel, former employee of JAU, Social worker and recipient of President, Governor and Chief Minister’s Award was also felicitated by the dignitaries.

     A special talk was delivered by Dr. Pradhyuman Khachar a renowned Historian on “History of India’s independence” . Dr. Khachar gave very useful information regarding role of National leaders and freedom fighters in achieving independence.

     The programme was concluded with the Vote of thanks proposed by Dr. P.V. Patel, Director, Students’ Welfare.
