College of Veterinary Science & A. H., Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh celebrated International Women’s Day on the theme ‘Balance for Better’ under the aegis of Gender Champion Club (Joint initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and Ministry of Human Resource Development) on 08/03/2019 at 4.00 PM. Dr. Vaibhavi Sanghvi, Veterinary Doctor, Wild Life Care Center, Ahmedabad and Miss. Kirti Rajgor, Wild Life Rescuer, Junagadh shared their experiences during the function. Dr. P. H. Tank, Principal and Dean, Veterinary College, Dr. V. R. Malam, Director of Students’ Welfare, J. A. U., Dr. Y. L. Vyas, Rtd. Professor & Head, Veterinary College, A.A.U. and Mr. Jiladiya Nikunj, Gender Champion of Veterinary College spoke on ‘Gender Equality’ during the function. Dr. Joice P. Joseph, Nodal teacher, Gender Champion Club was also present. The event inspired staff and students and was a step towards achieving gender equality. One exhibition on the theme ‘Balance for Better’ was also organized along this programme. Team of Mr. Harshad Dave (2^nd Year B. V. Sc. & A. H.) and Mr. Kansagra Bhargav (4^th Year B. V. Sc. & A. H.) bagged first prize in the competition. Miss. Kaneriya Bhargavi, Miss. Sagrika Bhatt and Miss. Vanpariya Shruthi (second prize) and Mr. Kachhra Sahil and Mr. Umang Patel (third prize) were other winners.
