Two Days National Training  programme on “Application of Artificial Intelligence for data analysis in Animal Science” was organized by Department of Animal Genetics & Breeding at College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh under Institutional Development Plan on 5th -6th August , 2019. The training programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest of function, Dr. Abhishek Kumar, Director, Sakkarbaugh Zoo, Junagadh. Dr. P. H. Tank Principal and Dean, College of Veterinary Science & A.H. presided over the function. The inaugural function was also graced by the presence of Dr V.V. Rajani, Director Extension Education, Junagadh Agricultural University, Dr V.R. Malam, Director of Students’ welfare, Dr T.S. Radhakrishnan, Director, NRCG, Junagadh, Dr. N.K. Gontia, Principal and Dean, College of Agri. Engineering & Technology, Dr. B.K. Sagarka Principal, College of Agriculture, Junagadh and Dr. K. A. Khunt, Principal, College of PGIABM  Dr. A.R. Ahlawat, Convener  of the  training programme  welcomed all the   guests, faculty, speakers , Students, press and media. He thanked the  Hon’ble  Vice chancellor and Principal Investigator( IDP) for  playing pivotal role to bring IDP project to Junagadh Agricultural University .Dr. P.H.Tank delivered presidential speech highlighted  the  importance of  artificial intelligence  and the future prospects of  artificial intelligence in animal breeding and  Veterinary Sciences. Dr. Abhishek Kumar also shared his experiences and thoughts on importance of big data analysis and application of artificial intelligence in wild life

 

 The two day programme was divided in four technical sessions having six speaker lectures and two practicals. Speakers  were invited from  National level institutes and  universities  to deliver  talks on relevant subject Prominent speakers included Dr Ravindra  Malhotra   Principal Scientist , NDRI  who delivered a talk on “Application of Statistical tools in Animal Sciences”.Dr  D.P. Pandey Retd Professor and Head, C.V.Sc & A.H.,Dantiwada presented his lecture on” Experimental Designs”.Dr Neeraj Kashyap and Dr A.D. Verma engaged the students in Practical hands on training in MS excel  Around 89 Undergraduate students from various constituent colleges of  JAU and 32 faculty members  attended and participated actively in the programme.The plenary session was held on 6th August at 5.00 P.M in the evening.Dr P.H.Tank, Principal and Dean, College of Veterinary Science &A.H. presided over the function and honored the speakers with mementos. Participants also present their feedback and informed the gathering how they were benefitted by the training. Dr A.D.Verma Co-convener of the National Training presented the proceedings of various technical sessions and presented the vote of thanks at the end of the event.
