Prof. (Dr.) Narendra Kumar Gontia, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Junagadh Agricultural University received onorary Fellow-2022 Award by Confederation of Horticulture Associations of India (CHAI), New Delhi during National Conference on Climate Resilient and Sustainable Development of Horticulture 28-31 May, 2022 at  Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology (CSAUA&T), Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

     The award was given to Dr. Nadendra Kumar Gontia for his outstanding contributions to innovations in the water management and providing leadership.

     Dr. Narendra Kumar Gontia, born on July 24, 1961 pursued B.Tech  (Agril. Engg.) from JNKVV, Jabalpur and M.Tech. & Ph.D. Agril. Engg. in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur. He was recipient of Prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Award of ICAR, New Delhi for Ph.D Research.He received 10 national awards including fellowships. He has 38 years of experience in Agricultural Engineering Education, Research and Extension including more than 10 years as  Principal and Dean, College of Agril. Engg. and Tech., JAU. Since October 2021, he is officiating Vice Chancellor, Junagadh Agricultural University.

   He executed about 10 research projectsas Principal Investigator and published more than 118 research articlesin reputed national and international journals and seminar & conferences. He authored 02 books, 07 chapters in books and peer reviewer in 10 journals. He has guided 16 PG studentsleading to M.Tech and PhD. degree. He has developed several technologies and research recommendations in Agricultural Water Management.
