             One day training programme on Sprinkler irrigation system and sprinkler set distribution was organized at College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh on 16/08/2013 by All India Coordinated Research Project on Ground Water Utilization, Department of Soil and Water Engineering, CAET under tribal sub plan of ICAR for the welfare of tribal farmers of Talala Taluka, Dist.: Gir Somnath. 70 farmers have participated in the programme. Shri  Babubhai Bokhiriya, Hon'ble  Minister, Agriculture, Cooperation, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Cow breeding, Water resources (Except kalpasar) govt. of Gujarat was the chief guest and  he has distributed Sprinkler Irrigation sets to 70 Tribal farmers. Dr. N.C. Patel,  Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, JAU, Junagadh has presided over the function.

            Shri Babubhai Bokhiriya, emphasized on adoption of modern irrigation technologies and water management practices to satisfy the water requirement of the increasing population of the country. Dr. N.C. Patel, Hon. Vice Chancellor, in presidential remarks, accentuated on food and nutritional securities by saving every drop of water, where it drops, and using efficiently through micro irrigation technologies. 

         The director of research, Director of Extension Education, Director Students' welfare, Comptroller, All the Principal and Deans of various colleges and Head of the Departments, JAU, Junagadh remained present in the function.
