The pomegranate juice extractor machine developed at Processing and Food Engineering Department, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Junagadh Agricultural University has granted Patent.  The whole fruit is to be used to extract the juice from the machine. Fruit cutting, aril pressing, juice extraction, juice filtering and waste disposal are given in the machine. Further, as contact parts are made of PTFE and Stainless Steel, this does not reacting physically or chemically with fruit, gives better quality of juice and consume less energy in comparison to metallic rollers. The machine offers minimum collusion and friction besides smooth conveying. Due to this the fruit gets less damage and enhance the quality of juice. Further, one can easily observe the status of fruit used for crushing. The machine gives better recovery and quality of juice. Moreover, it has less weight which reduces cost and energy.
